As we commemorate the birthday of our late President, Dr Hage Geingob, we had a very special visitor at Macmillan Education Namibia offices today. Honourable John Mutorwa, long-serving Parliamentarian, former Deputy Prime Minister; Minister of Works and Transport; Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry; Minister of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture and, most importantly, Minister of Basic Education, Sport and Culture.
Honourable Mutorwa's unwavering support for education and culture throughout his life is what brought him to our offices today. Macmillan has published three of his books over the years:
- "Access to Education 1990–2000" (an analysis of the state of education system in the country)
- "The Establishment of the Nyangana Roman Catholic Mission during the Reign of Hompa Nyangana" (a historical inquiry)
- "Mutorwa's Speeches" (a collection of speeches made during his tenure as the Minister of Basic Education, Sport, and Culture).
We felt it was important to acknowledge the contribution Honourable Mutorwa has made to the Education System and the country during his public service.
