As part of the Springer Nature’s Charitable Giving initiative, Namibia
Publishing House donated the amount of €1,000.00 to S.P.E.S. Charity (Step out
of Poverty through Education, Encouragement and Support) earlier this month. The
S.P.E.S. Charity was established for the main purpose of serving the less
fortunate children and youth in our country, by helping them step out of poverty
through education, encouragement and support. The charity works with 15 informal
preschools situated in the poorer areas of Windhoek, impacting about 1 100
children. The donated funds will be used to provide hygiene and cleaning
materials, stationary and educational materials and nutritious food to meet the
children’s basic needs.
